Ohio Medicaid Modernization: Behavioral Health Redesign
The State Fiscal Years 2016-2017 Biennium budget included provisions to modernize Ohio’s behavioral health Medicaid services and supports. Through the Behavioral Health Redesign, the Ohio Department of Medicaid and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services will be:
- Developing new services for individuals with high intensity service and support needs;
- Recoding of all Medicaid behavioral health services to achieve alignment with national coding standards; and
- Improving health outcomes through better care coordination by integrating the behavioral health benefit into Medicaid managed care.
