ANNUAL CONVENTION & TRADE SHOW

All meetings, except for the Annual Meeting and Executive Forum, will be held at the OAHP Offices in the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Building, 230 E. Town Street, Columbus. Times and room location are noted under each Committee. Public Affairs meets via conference call. The Annual Meeting will be held at The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel and the location for the Executive Forum is TBD.

OAHP Committees
Legislative and Regulatory Committee: The committee meets on the last Friday of each month and serves as a resource to state and local legislators, regulators and other officials involved in the planning and development of laws and regulations which may affect the operation of managed care health plans in the state. The Legislative and Regulatory Committee is made up of lobbyists and regulatory compliance staff from each health plan and provides guidance to OAHP on issues impacting health plans in Ohio.
Education Committee: The purpose of the Education Committee is to develop and organize educational programs, including the annual convention and tradeshow, to assist association members in matters of mutual business and professional concerns and to assist member plan staff in obtaining appropriate required continuing education.
Medicaid Committee: The Medicaid Committee meets on the last Wednesday of each month in conjunction with the ODJFS Monthly MCP Meetings. The purpose of the Medicaid committee is to support licensed health plans that either currently serve the Medicaid population or have an interest in serving Medicaid members in the future.
Public Affairs Committee: The purpose of this committee is to develop and employ strategic communications initiatives with the legislature, media, employers and consumers that enhance the visibility, increase the understanding and communicate the benefits of managed care plans to affect positively the image of the health plan industry.
Medical Directors Council: The Medical Council is open to any Medical Director employed by member health plans and meets once each quarter. The purpose of the council is to advise the Board of Trustees, make recommendations and provide leadership relating to patient care issues.
Medicare Committee: The purpose of this committee is to provide information, education, and support to member plans that serve or have an interest in serving Medicare beneficiaries.
Public Affairs: The purpose of this committee is to discuss an implement public relations and communications activities that promote the health insurance industry.
